DU Essential Profile
The Essential Profile offers a detailed view of hormone function using a non‑invasive dried urine collection. It measures key sex hormones and adrenal markers, giving clinicians valuable insight into metabolism, detoxification, and balance.
This panel is nearly identical to our Balance Profile, except it does not
include 4‑point cortisol/cortisone graphing. It still includes a full
range of adrenal metabolites—an excellent choice when cortisol rhythm
tracking isn’t required.

What the Essential Profile Measures
This panel evaluates a broad range of hormones and their metabolites, including:
-
Estrogens (estrone, estradiol, estriol) &
estrogen metabolites to assess detox pathways. - Progesterone marker: Pregnanediol
-
Testosterone, DHEA, related androgens &
breakdown products. -
Adrenal hormones & metabolites
(excludes 4-point cortisol/cortisone graphing).
Because it uses dried urine, the test is easy to complete at home—no lab visit
or blood draw required.
When to Consider the Essential Profile
- Navigating menopause, perimenopause, or other hormonal changes
- Symptoms such as low libido, fatigue, anxiety, or mood swings
- Exploring estrogen metabolism and hormone-related cancer risk
- Starting or adjusting bioidentical hormone therapy
This panel provides a reliable snapshot of how the body produces, uses, and
clears hormones.
Why Choose Dried Urine Collection?
- Captures parent hormones and metabolites for a broader picture
- Reflects daily output rather than a single moment
- Easy at-home collection with clear instructions
- Helps reveal detoxification and clearance patterns
Together, these insights can help guide more timely and personalized care.
