Whole Blood Viscosity is a measure of how thick or “sticky” the blood is. It reflects the friction between layers of blood cells as they flow through the vessels and is directly influenced by hydration, red cell deformability, inflammation, lipid levels, and fibrinogen.

When WBV is elevated, blood moves more sluggishly through the vessels. This leads to:
